Growth charts provided by CDC are made up of a range of percentile curves which show the distribution of a certain body measurement of a youngsters. This has been used in the United States since 1977.

Growth charts are never designed to be utilized as a single analytical tool. Rather, the data are considered as resources which add to developing a complete scientific picture for the youngster being assessed.
